Despite fewer inmates jail stays busy.

Stays at the grand forks county correctional center were down slightly in 2011. still the local jail was booked for 58-thousand-398 bed days last year. That's equivalent to 160 guests on average per day compared to 175 in 2010. the correctional center has a maximum capacity of 242 inmates daily. administrator bret burkholder says housing federal inmates remains a big draw generating upwards of one-point-seven million dollars in revenue each year. Burkholder says alcohol related offenses continue to be a major player in landing people in jail.
