..DANGEROUSLY COLD WIND CHILLS THROUGH TUESDAY MORNING...

.A BRUTALLY COLD AIR MASS CONTINUES OVER THE NORTHERN PLAINS.
WIND CHILLS WILL CONTINUE TO BE IN THE 40 TO 60 BELOW RANGE INTO TUESDAY MORNING.

governor mark dayton has cancelled classes in all public schools today.  Minnesota education commissioner Brenda cassellius says most districts are coming off a two week holiday break and they wanted to get the word out right away.   The commissioner says local districts can decide how to proceed if the frigid temps persist.  Classes are also cancelled in grand forks and both und and umc are closed as well.  A polar votex is blamed for some of the coldest air in a decade.  temps will warm into the 20's by the weekend.
