They’ve tallied up the tickets and grand forks police issued 292 citations during the most recent click it or ticket campaign. The two-week blitz ran from may 19th to june first. A total of 39 citations were written for seat-belt / child restraint violations. The average speeding ticket was for going 12 miles over the limit.
The national safety council says the average seat-belt useage rate around the country is 88-percent. During the most recent click it or ticket campaign the grand forks police department found occupants buckled up 87-percent of the time. The g-f-p-d says traffic safety will be a priority this summer with special emphasis going towards: speeding…texting and driving…not wearing seat-belts…stop sign and traffic signal violations.
