Cirrus Design has landed a 950-thousand dollar low interest loan from the Grand Forks Growth Fund to help expand and modify its airplane plant in the industrial park. The money is part of a one-and-a-half million dollar upgrade that includes the purchase of an autoclave for manufacturing carbon fiber airplane parts that the company currently produces elsewhere. Cirrus officials say the move will strengthen the Grand Forks location and add another ten jobs to the community. The recommendation will be reviewed by the Jobs Development Authority (city council) next week.
