This year’s Big Ring raised a record 30-thousand dollars for the Salvation Army. The annual event by Leighton Broadcasting is held each year to benefit the Salvation Army's kettle drive. As part of this year's campaign over one-dollar was raised for every gallon of gas pumped at the Valley Dairy Store at the intersection of University Avenue and North Washington. Volunteers pumped eight-thousand gallons of gas on Tuesday. this was the ninth year for the big ring.
