The alerus center continues to turn a profit. The events center building submitted a first quarter financial report to members of the grand forks finance committee. It shows the building generated nearly 353-thousand dollars in earnings in the first three months of the year. Alerus finance manager darryl jorgenson told finance members that revenues for the convention side of the building are running 33-percent higher than the arena side.
The building hosted 135 events during the first quarter with the class “b” basketball tournament generating the most traffic with 26-thousand-400 patrons followed by the grand forks men’s show…home design show…and monster trucks.
