Winter Cold?
November 19, 2012

A new outlook from NOAA this week puts the brakes on predictions of above normal temps this Winter for the Dakota’s and Minnesota. The new revised forecast calls for temps in December…January…and February to trend below normal. The long range prognostication takes into account a weakening of the El Nino pattern in the Pacific Ocean. Mark Ewens of the NWS office in Grand Forks says the El Nino has all but collapsed. On the snow front Ewens says we could see a slightly more snow -- much of that falling in the latter half of the Winter season.
