School Testing
November 13, 2012

It’s testing day at Phoenix Elementary School in Grand Forks but not the academic variety. Health officials will screen 25 or 30 students for Tuberculosis after a fellow student tested positive for TB. It was the eight case identified in the county since September and the tenth since last March. Health officials say those to be tested had close contact with the infected student – but they insist it’s only a precaution. Altru Infectious Disease Specialist Dr-James Hargreaves says the results should be available on Thrusday. There are around 240 students at Phoenix plus 60 full and part-time staff.
