S & P's Soar

October 3, 2012

North Dakota’s taxable sales and purchases climbed to over six-point-four billion dollars during the second quarter of this year --  an increase of 41-point-five percent.   Fourteen of the fifteen industry sectors reported over the year gains.   Tax Commissioner Cory Fong says North Dakota’s economic growth is spread across nearly all major industry sectors.   Fong says consumer confidence remains strong and businesses are growing.  If there is a note of caution fong says the third and fourth quarter reports will reflect the result of the ag harvest and will help determine the impact of this summer’s drought.   Taxable S-and-P's climbed over 13-percent in Grand Forks during April…May…and June.
