Overweight Crisis
August 17, 2012
The most overweight states in the nation are in the South and Midwest. That’s the findings of a new study by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control. Mississippi is number one for obesity with more than one out of three people being too fat. C olorado is the healthiest with just one in five residents considered obese. Twelve states are over the 30-percent mark. North Dakota’s obesity rate is 27-point-eight percent while Minnesota tips the scale at just under 26-percent. The CDC says obesity related medical bills cost 147 billion dollars a year.
