ND Tax Relief
North Dakota lawmakers have entered the mid-session break. Before calling it quits the state house passed a number of bills designed to provide property tax relief. Majority Leader Al Carlson called it a good piece of work but the job isn’t over yet. Carlson says prior to the current session the state enacted 786-million dollars of property tax relief. He says the legislation now on the table commits another 742 million dollars. Carlson says in order to get real reform voters need to get involved as the state doesn't levy property taxes. Lawmakers will return to Bismarck next Wednesday.
