Feb 27, 2013 at 1:53 pm

The president of the North Dakota Board of Higher Education says there are no plans to ask Chancellor Ham Shirvani to step down.   Duaine Espegard was reacting to a senate vote this morning to include 854-thousand dollars in the higher ed board budget to buy out the final two years of the chancellor’s contract.   Espegard says he doesn’t have a problem with shirvani’s management style

Espegaard says he ‘s disappointed in the senate action abd called the weekend “no confidence” vote by the North Dakota Student Association confusing.

He says he’s aware of the message lawmakers are trying to send and the board will “absolutely” act to try and improve communication.    Shirvani has been in charge of the university system since July.
