North Dakota's total crime index offenses increased nearly eleven-percent last year. Crime index offenses include the violent crimes of murder...rape...robbery...aggravated assault..and property crimes. Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem says the crime rate is up but so is the state's population. The number of forcible rapes decreased nearly seven-percent last year. There were 15 murders in 2011. Arrests for DUI increased by nine-percent from 6,050 to 6,600 in 2011.
