The clean-up will continue today from Monday’s blizzard that dumped over four inches of snow whipped by winds in excess of 50 miles and hour. City plows in Grand Forks will move further into residential areas today after getting back on the road around twop-monMonday. I-29 has reopened north of Grand Forks to the Canadian border. U-S 81 is good to go after being blocked north of Minto. In addition MNDOT has opened Highway 2 between East Grand Forks and Crookston. Grand Forks Street Super Mark Aubol says they hope to have all streets plowed by two p-m this afternoon…
The storm clogged roads and prompted a no travel advisory. The city opened an emergency shelter at the Alerus Center. Pileups were reported along 32nd Avenue South…Demers Avenue just west of I-29…and on North 55t .
Behind the storm comes a blast of arctic air…temps won’t climb above zero today.
