Burn Ban

October 1, 2012

A burning ban in Grand Forks County has been extended through November third.  Abnormally dry conditions have resulted in numerous rural fires.  Much of Grand Forks County falls within the extreme drought status as identified by the u-s drought monitor. Anyone who willfully violates the ban could be charged with a class “B” misdemeanor -- punishable by 30-days in jail and or a one-thousand dollar fine and the cost for any fire supression.

The ban does not include recreational fires in the city of Grand Forks.
